ATTENTION COACHES, ADMINISTRATORS AND TEAM PARENTS

 

Dear Players, Families and Coaches

In response to the recent news about the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we reach out with some general recommendations and best practices to stay healthy so that we can keep playing basketball.

At this time, it is important to listen to facts and not respond to fear. Currently, the COVID-19 risk to Atlanta remains low.

However, YBOA-GAl is actively discussing and monitoring the situation so that we ensure prudent preventive measures if and when needed.

In accordance with CDC guidelines and the GA Dept. of Health, the measures listed below make sense for maintaining health and well-being during the general flu season, and particularly during the potential emergence of COVID-19. Please help us all stay healthy by reminding your children to:

 

General Protocols

1.    YBOA will refer to local, state, federal and CDC recommendations as guidance.

2.    All players, coaches and guests should review all CDC and health guidelines before entering the facility.

3.    If any player, coach, spectator, or staff is not feeling well or has been exposed to a person with COV-19 within the past 14 days, he/she should stay home.

4.    Only two teams and their guests will be allowed in the facility at one time. Teams and guests are encouraged to wait in their vehicles or covered outdoor area until the appropriated entry time for their respective game.

5.    YBOA will use separate entry and exit points for all games. Teams and spectators are encouraged to exit promptly after their game using the 6-foot social distancing guideline to allow time for sanitization and entry of new teams.

6.    Gate admission may be purchased on-site by cash with exact change only. Per DAY $10.00

7.    Hand sanitizer will be available on-site.

8.    Masks will be required for all attendees and will be available on-site for purchase for those without proper face covering.

9.    All public water fountains will be closed.

10. Building/Spectator capacity will be determined by facility and municipality guidelines.

11. Games will be scheduled in 90-minutes blocks to allow easy flow of teams and spectators.

12. YBOA will use sanitizing techniques on equipment and seating between games.

13. YBOA will promote enhanced website, email, and on-site signage with CDC Guidelines.

14. Pre-packaged awards will be available for teams after a division is completed. We will temporarily suspend all post-tournament award ceremonies.

15. YBOA reserves the right to refuse any patron, player, or coach from entering facility.

Players & Coaches

1.    Only two teams and their guests will be allowed in the facility at one time. Teams and guests are encouraged to wait in their vehicle or covered outdoor area until the appropriate entry time for their respective game.

2.    Digital temperature checks of all player and coaches will be required each time they enter the facility.

3.    YBOA will use separate entry and exit points for all games. Teams are encouraged to exit promptly after their game to allow time for sanitization and entry of new teams.

4.    Players will be spaced on the bench utilizing social distancing 6-foot guidelines.

5.    No handshakes, high-fives, chest bumps, etc. are allowed between teams, players, and coaches.

6.    Teams must completely clean their bench area after each game from any uniform/apparel, bottles, towels, debris, etc.

7.    Use of water coolers or group hydrations methods will not be allowed. Only individual player hydration containers may be used.

8.    Players and coaches should have their own individual towels on the bench. Sharing of a towel between players or coaches will not be allowed.

9.    No pre-game or post-game contact between teams will be allowed.

10. If a player or coach needs to sneeze or cough, they should so into a tissue or upper sleeve.

Guests & Spectators

1.    Building/Spectator capacity will be determined by facility and municipality guidelines.

2.    Only two teams and their guests will be allowed in the facility at one time. Teams and guest are encouraged to wait in their vehicle or covered outdoor area until the appropriate entry time for their respective game.

3.    There will be a No Re-entry Policy for each game. Facility will be emptied of all teams and spectators at the conclusion of each game. Spectators may re-enter the facility at the appropriate time of their next game.

4.    YBOA will use separate entry and exit points for all games. Teams and spectators are encouraged to exit promptly after their game using the 6-foot social distancing guideline to allow time for sanitization and entry of new teams.

5.    Masks will be required for all spectators and guests. Masks will be available on-site for purchase for those without proper face covering.

6.    Spectators must observe the 6-foot social distancing guideline (non-related spectators i.e. family, friends, etc.) when attending and watching each game.

7.    Spectators/Guests should not leave any minor unattended in the facility.

8.    Spectators/Guests are encouraged to bring their own anti-bacterial sanitizer/wipes to each game.

9.    Spectators/Guest must completely clean their seating area after each game from any bottles, debris, etc.

10. YBOA reserves the right to refuse any patron, spectator, or guest from entering facility.

Staff

1.    Digital temperature checks of all staff will be required each time they enter the facility.

2.    If any staff is not feeling well or has been exposed to a person with COV-19 within the past 14 days, he/she should stay home.

3.    All staff will be required to wear masks. Referees will not be required to wear masks during live games.

4.    All staff will be required to practice 6-foot social distancing guidelines.

5.    YBOA staff will use sanitization techniques on equipment and seating between games.

6.    YBOA staff will promote enhanced website, email, and on-site signage with CDC Guidelines.

7.    YBOA will provided pre-packaged awards for teams after a division is completed. We will temporarily suspend all post-tournament award ceremonies.

8.    YBOA reserves the right to refuse anyone from entering facility.

ADMISSION WILL BE PER DAY $10.00
EVERYONE MUST LEAVE THE GYM AFTER YOUR GAME 

 

If a team has NOT submitted their team roster with supporting documents or is missing any player documentation, (i.e. birth certificate and report card) you will need to bring to check in on Friday night.
 

 

We cannot accept any faxes in the Georgia office on Friday.

 

Team check in will be at the gym

 

 

Friday night 6pm to 9pm

 

Saturday 9am to 1pm

 

 

 

Failure to have your team certified by the Georgia office, with all documentation supplied, could result in disqualification and forfeit of all games.

 

 

 

It is your responsibility to MAKE SURE you have all your documentation submitted to the GA Office.

 

 

 

NEED TO REMIND ALL COACHES!!!

 

Coach`s Attire: All coaches and assistants will wear long pants or dress shorts, shirts with collars or mock turtlenecks, and dress or basketball/tennis shoes. Casual and/or "cut off" shorts, warm-up suits, t-shirts, and open-toed shoes are not permitted. Tournament Director or Site Director has the authority to NOT allow any coaching staff on the bench if not in proper attire. Females can wear a dress or a blouse.
